This Privacy Policy explains how SousAI collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the SousAI mobile app and related services.
In short: SousAI uses account, recipe, cooking, and app diagnostic information to provide the app, save your content, power AI features, send account emails, improve reliability, and keep the service secure.
Who We Are
SousAI is an AI-powered recipe and cooking assistant. This policy applies to the SousAI app, backend services, and related account features.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use SousAI, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your email address, authentication method, account identifiers, and password authentication data.
- Sign-in information from supported identity providers, such as Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, when you choose to use them.
- App content you create or provide, such as recipes, ingredients, pantry or inventory items, grocery lists, cooking preferences, prompts, images, and notes.
- Communications and account emails, such as email verification, password reset, and support-related messages.
- Technical and diagnostic information, such as app version, device and platform details, crash reports, error logs, request metadata, and security events.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, secure, and manage your account.
- Save and sync recipes, lists, preferences, and related app content.
- Generate, modify, parse, or organize recipe content with AI features.
- Process images or text you submit for recipe and cooking features.
- Send account, verification, password reset, and service emails.
- Detect, troubleshoot, and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues.
- Protect the app, backend, users, and service providers from abuse.
- Comply with legal, safety, and platform requirements.
AI Features
When you use AI-powered features, the prompts, recipe text, images, and related content you provide may be sent to AI service providers to generate or transform recipe content. Do not submit information that you do not want processed for these features.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate SousAI, including:
- Hosting and backend infrastructure providers.
- Database and storage providers.
- AI and image-processing providers.
- Email delivery providers.
- Authentication providers when you choose third-party sign-in.
- Crash reporting, analytics, logging, and security providers.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to investigate abuse or security issues, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide SousAI, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Some logs and diagnostic records may be kept for a shorter period than account or recipe data.
Your Choices
You may:
- Choose not to provide optional content or images.
- Update or delete content in the app where those controls are available.
- Stop using third-party sign-in and use another supported sign-in method.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or account closure.
Deleting Your Data
In-app (recommended): Open SousAI → More → Settings → Delete Account. This deletes your account and all associated data immediately — no email or manual review required.
By email (fallback): If you no longer have access to the app, email support@sousai.vermaworks.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include the email address on your account.

Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS. No internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
SousAI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through SousAI, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide notice where required.
